What is a General Schedule?

​General Records Schedules (GRSs) provide legal authorization to dispose of records common to a business function on a regularly scheduled basis.  General Records Schedules are a mechanism for consistent retention and disposition of similar types of records across all government units.  For example, there is a GRS for state government financial records and another for human resources records because these business functions are similar among all state government units.  More information can be found by clicking on the General Schedule link in the navigation bar above.
